Verona ISO remains unchanged

Recent media coverage has brought a lot of attention to ISO, Insurance Services Organization, ratings. Verona Fire maintains a rating of 5/9. A majority of our service area enjoys a rating of 5 however those residents living in an area of the county without hydrants receive a rating of 9. Please see www.iso.com/ for more information. Lawn tractor pins man

A small lawn tractor pins the driver after rolling off of a hill at a private residence on Quicks Mill Road. Operating at the scene were Trauma Engine 62, SARS Medic 52 and Staunton FM2. The gentleman was safely removed and refused treatment from EMS.

What started as a simple traffic crash on Lee Highway was quickly upgraded to a full assignment when it was reported that a building had been struck. Verona Fire, Staunton Fire & Rescue, Augusta County Fire & Rescue, Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad and Churchville Rescue worked to treat two critically injured patients, mitigate a high pressure natural gas leak and assure the building was structurally sound. Units operating on the scene included Medic Engine 62, Medic Engine 105, Squad 10, Engine 1, Medic 53, Medic 52, Rescue 43, ACFR Duty Officer,  and Building Inspector 1 under the command of Chief 6.

We at the company are selling this great book of 114 pages of great recipes as one of many fundraisers we do a year to help with operations of the Fire Company. The mission of the Verona Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fires, medical emergencies, environmental and other disasters.

We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire suppression, medical services, rescue skills and other related emergency and non emergency activities.

We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all of the necessary resources at our command to provide a product deemed excellent by our citizens.
